| What we do: (Our Mandate) |
The BYA Committee, working with Pelly Heighton, a professional Event Planner, is responsible for the Businesswoman of the Year Awards Gala dinner - the WBN’s largest and most publicized annual event. Once the Nominating and Awards Committee has announced the nine Finalists, the BYA Committee coordinates the Finalists’ interviews, photographs and videos. The BYA Committee works with the WBN External Communications Committee, the Ottawa Citizen and Rogers Television to market and provide media coverage of the event. We secure BYA-specific sponsorships, and plan all aspects of the Gala Evening itself –staging, décor, food, music, VIPs, MC, gifts and prizes. The year-long Gala planning cycle culminates in April at one of Ottawa’s premier annual events. |
