Our Mission

We:

• Celebrate accomplishments and have fun doing it!

The WBN was established in 1981 and currently has approximately 150 members. The Network is made up of women who are business owners, in commissioned sales, or senior management. We are a dynamic group encompassing a broad range of expertise in a diverse array of businesses.

We:

• Produce an annual Women in Business Directory which is distributed to over 5000 businesses.
• Hold monthly meetings covering a wide range of business and personal development topics.
• Organize the annual Jill Brown Memorial Golf Classic, part of the proceeds from which go to local charities.
• In association with the Ottawa Citizen, honour women in business through the annual Businesswoman of the Year Award which celebrates outstanding leadership qualities, entrepreneurial skills, notable achievements and community involvement.
• Sponsor three annual scholarships for female students intending to pursue entrepreneurial endeavours at the University of Ottawa, Carleton University and Algonquin Community College.
• Maintain our public presence via our own web site.

What We Do:

• Provide opportunities for women to develop skills and strengthen networking relationships through committee participation.
• Provide a forum for networking, exchanging ideas and promoting each other's businesses.
• Foster educational development within the membership.
