What a great board we have this year! We started the year with 3 goals:

  1. Implementing the Ad hoc Committees recommendations from 2007/2008
  2. Succession Planning
  3. Greening the Network

We accomplished these and more.

Sue is an Executive Coach, Specializing in Women in Leadership, who offers coaching to individuals and groups, supporting them to achieve their goals. Coaching goals may include: increased confidence, greater ability to work with others/ positive relationships, improved clarity of focus and effectiveness in a particular area of life, greater career satisfaction, increased leadership success.

Sue also coaches in customized group coaching program settings for groups of diverse executives and within organizations. Leadership Dialogues are a hybrid offering of training and coaching, where participants are challenged to apply new, learned leadership skills in their workplace each month, gaining valuable on the job experience.

As a manager in the high tech industry for more than 25 years, (e.g. Nabu, Mitel, SystemHouse, AMEC), Sue built strong technical teams to deliver software project objectives by facilitating communication, supporting individual development and creating an open environment in which people's contributions were encouraged and recognized.

Sue joined the Adlerian Counselling and Consulting Group in Ottawa as an Associate in 2001. She has completed coach training with the Adler School of Professional Coaching Inc. in Toronto, Canada, and is working towards formal certification with the International Coaching Federation. Sue received "The Olga Howe Networker of the Year Award" in 2006. She has been active in the WBN in a variety of Board roles in her 20 plus years as a WBN member.

Dianne is a retired Senior Bank Executive. After 38 years in the banking industry Dianne became an entrepreneur, opening JUST IMAGINE HOME AND GARDEN DECOR in the Historic Village of Manotick. JUST IMAGINE DECOR offers exclusive home decor items displayed beautifully in a retail store front and Dianne does interior design consulting. JUST IMAGINE strives to help every client realize their own style.

Dianne has served as the President of the Board of Directors for Citizen Advocacy, a not-for-profit Association supporting people with disabilities. She has been an advocate companion through that organization for over eight years. Dianne is involved in the planning of the major fund raiser for Citizen Advocacy - an Evening in the Maritimes and the Day of the Disabled. Her commitment to this organization comes from her desire to assist people in their day to day lives and contribute to their quality of life. Dianne also sits on the Executive Board for the Manotick Business Improvement Association and is actively involved in the Manotick Chamber of Commerce.

Shawn has been involved in the jewellery industry since 1992. She quickly discovered that bringing people and beautiful things together is a very attractive career path. She is a Registered Jeweler with the distinguished American Gem Society and a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America’s Diamond and Coloured Gemstone programs. Now with more than 15 years of design experience and advanced training in the gemological sciences; she provides invaluable advice to her clients, be it for a new jewellery purchase or restoring a treasured family heirloom.

Shawn is the General Manager of Davidson's Jewellers in the Glebe which this year celebrates 70 years in business. The store has a large and loyal customer base with most new clients coming through personal referrals and networking. Of particular importance to Shawn is the cultivation of the next generation of discerning jewellery clients. One way she fosters this is through planning the unique events, advertising and promotions that set Davidson’s apart. A favorite saying she likes to pass on to clients is that “If you buy quality you only cry once.”

Another large part of her work involves jewellery buying for the fashion forward Davidson’s. Particularly enjoyable to her is discovering the new trends in jewellery each season and talented new designers she can introduce Ottawa to.

A WBN member since 1999 and past chair of the Golf Committee; she also participates in numerous local charity events each year as Davidson’s ambassador. Shawn is particularly proud to have helped her 11 year old daughter Tegan raise over $3000 this spring in the Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes.

Anne brings over 18 years of experience to her role as a senior assurance and advisory services manager with the Westboro accounting firm of Ginsberg Gluzman Fage & Levitz, LLP (GGFL).  An interest in helping clients achieve their goals and a “good memory” are some of the key attributes that Anne brings to public practice.  She helps provide clients with the information necessary to make informed decisions and is an integral part of their business advisory teams.

A WBN member since 2001, and past chair of the program committee, Anne has served on several boards in her professional career.  She currently serves as a board member and chair of the audit committee for the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre.  She balances all of this with an active and healthy lifestyle centered on family, sports and leisure activities.

Gail is a Sales Representative for Tippet-Richardson Limited. She has over 27 years invested in the moving industry and is responsible for estimating costs and organizing North American and AlliedVan Line's share of military relocations including the Department of National Defense, R.C.M.P. as well as other various Government Departments.

She also quotes on local and long-distance moves, including moves to the U.S. and overseas for the private sector in Ottawa and the surrounding areas.

Gail has been a member of the WBN for the past four years but joined the Membership Committee immediately. She finds it a great networking opportunity to meet and greet other business women in the community. She and her husband Mike live close to Stittsville and share five children. One of her greatest sources of joy is spending time with her grandchildren.

Ann is a founding partner with Callaghan Letellier Wiens Gibbons, a forward thinking, full-service facility planning firm specializing in corporate office design. She has been in the interior design field for 25 years, since graduating from University of Manitoba, Faculty of Architecture, with a Bachelor of Interior Design.

Over the past 13 years, Ann and her partners have built a three-person operation working from her home basement into Ottawa’s pre-eminent facility planner. Ann’s professional group, the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO), asked her in 2000 to judge design projects for the influential ARIDO Awards of Excellence.

Also in 2000, Call Center Magazine named CLWG’s design for Compaq Computer’s Ottawa call center ‘High Technology Call Center of the Year’.

In July 2004, she became Ottawa’s first interior designer to certify for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program, making CLWG the city’s first design firm to become accredited in designing environmentally-friendly ‘green buildings’. She has completed renovations to CLWG’s offices to meet LEED-CI (Commercial Interiors) standards. At completion, CLWG should have the first LEED-CI certified office in Ottawa.
